Synopsis
She wasn’t looking for love…
When Lucie Kennington flees the bright lights of London for the quiet Derbyshire countryside, she’s shocked to discover that the heir to the Bluebell Castle estate is far from the wizened employer she expected.
In fact, Arthur Ludworth might just be the most handsome man Lucie’s ever laid eyes on – and a terrible distraction! So when she stumbles across a legendary painting feared lost for centuries, she can’t believe her luck – perhaps this is the hidden treasure to save Arthur and his family from ruin?
But it’s only a matter of time before Lucie’s past catches up with her and by then it’s too late, she’s falling for him…
My Review
I’d like to thank Rachel’s Random Resources and Sarah Bennett for inviting me onto this amazing blog tour.
Through my blog I’m lucky enough to discover some wonderful authors, Sarah Bennett is one of these gems.
Sarah’s books are my complete happy place, a hug in a book. The characters are so believable with a warmth and depth that by the time you read the last sentence they feel like friends.
In the beginning of Spring Skies Over Bluebell Castle you are introduced to the Ludlow triplets, Arthur, Tristan and Igraine. Their Father has recently died and the eldest of the triplets, Arthur has become heir to the estate.
It’s become clear that the Ludlow inheritance is definitely non existence and there needs to be a small miracle to save the castle from being sold to pay of the Ludlow’s debts.
Lucie is an art expert and works for a famous auction house, her discovery of a rare piece of art could change her life. That is until it goes missing and is replaced by a fake. To Lucie’s horror she is blamed and suspended until further notice. The dark secret from her past seems to be haunting her, but it’s not her wrong doing, it was her fathers.
With her future looking bleak, Lucie’s Mum persuades her to take a two month post she sees advertised in the local paper to evaluate the contents of Bluebell Castle.
The story follows Lucie’s two month stay at Bluebell Castle.
Spring Skies Over Bluebell Castle is the first in the Bluebell Castle series. It’s full of romance and mystery in equal doses. I loved the historical element to the story, there are some real characters within the pages that really brought the story to life. The connection with King Arthur and The Knights Of The Round Table was a clever twist and made the story feel although very modern, historical at the same time.
A 5* review from me, my kindle is now patiently awaiting Sunshine Over Bluebell Castle!

All About Sarah
Sarah Bennett has been reading for as long as she can remember. Raised in a family of bookworms, her love affair with books of all genres has culminated in the ultimate Happy Ever After – getting to write her own stories to share with others.
Born and raised in a military family, she is happily married to her own Officer (who is sometimes even A Gentleman). Home is wherever he lays his hat, and life has taught them both that the best family is the one you create from friends as well as relatives.
When not reading or writing, Sarah is a devotee of afternoon naps and sailing the high seas, but only on vessels large enough to accommodate a casino and a choice of restaurants.
Sarah is the author of the Butterfly Cove, Lavender Bay and the forthcoming Bluebell Castle trilogies, published by HQ Digital UK.
