The Healer by Sharon Thompson #Review Blogtour

How do you escape a life of conflict and abuse?

Being a young girl in 1940’s Ireland isn’t easy for Molly, especially since she isn’t like others. Her family and community are wary of the beautiful child.

As Molly becomes a teenager life gets harder and she loses faith in everything.

Molly is surrounded in danger. She must make choices. But will she chose the right path or is she doomed to a life of misery? Will she survive in a world of violence and crime? Will The Healer ever be healed?

My Review

The Healer, well where do I start! Everything about this book is just perfect. The characters jump out of the pages at you whilst pulling you in and not letting you go!

I cried at parts of the story and felt angry with the injustice of the life that Molly was dealt.

Molly is a character that you can picture in you mind. She’s strong, vulnerable and brave all rolled into one. She definitely stays in your head long after you finish.

Molly is a healer she sees angels, this makes her strange to some, intriguing to others. She is treated horrendously by her mother who thinks she’s a burden and abused by her father.

Her life is full of twists and turns which I felt I lived with her. Just when you feel Molly’s life was on the up one of life’s blows hits her again and you feel like you want to fight the fight with her.

I can not recommend The Healer enough. Sharon is an author I’m so glad I’ve discovered.
